Breathe Easy

Breathe Easy watches your fishpond when you can’t.

(This is an advertisement for a product, but I feel that it is more appropriate to be presented as article as to have greater understanding of the product and the possible dangers our Koi collection constantly under cannot be expressed well in the product section)

How many of us Koi keepers have heard sad stories where a whole collection of Koi died while the owners are not home due to anything from blackouts, pump failures, water accidentally drained etc. but how many would then think, "mmm....that could be my collection ? but what can I do ?"

With the increasing high temperatures that we are experiencing each summer, the extra loads added to our electrical provider grids and our own homes, bushfires, electrical failures and blackouts happening more frequently and come without warning. This means being away from your home whether at work,  on holidays, or even just asleep, loss of electrical power to your fishpond will result in lost aeration and loss of water circulation and in just a few hours usually followed with the loss of your biggest and best-loved fish. Extended length of time without water circulation can also cause the bacteria in your pond filter to die, meaning that you will have water quality problem to deal with even when the power is restored.

Well the good news is there is a solution for it !!.

With the simple use of electronics, Breathe Easy system watches over your fishpond when you can’t. Breath Easy detects the changes in water flow and it then triggers the alarm system the same way your alarm detectors detects movements in your house. The key here is "detecting water flow", hence it triggers whether the changes are caused by pump mechanical failure, lost of water in the pond (pump is sucking air), a blackout, or simply someone accidentally pull the power cord of your pump.

By connecting the Breathe Easy alarm system to your pond you can monitor the ponds water flow, air pumps and the mains power to your house 24 hours a day.

Should the pump or power to your fishpond fail the alarm can be programmed to sound sirens, buzzers or just beep the alarm keypads. To complement the whole system, the alarm can be connected to a telephone line to dial through information about your alarm, house power or fishpond water flow. For those people who like gadgets you can even ring the alarm and activate axillary equipment such as back-up air systems, fire sprinklers or house lights.
